Arlington Street has played an important role in the history of Akron, Ohio. At one time, this street was a crucial and thriving avenue that connected the residents of the city's southern neighborhoods with their jobs in the rubber industry in downtown Akron. Today, with the factories all but shut-down completely, life on Arlington has become more of a struggle.
The creators of this project are two Akron citizens: one a lifetime resident, the other a nine year transplant. The general goal of the project is to experience what Arlington Street has to offer, from Home Avenue in the north to Waterloo Road in the south, documenting the sights and sounds along the way.

Elements from this project will be on display at the gallery in Square Records in Akron, Ohio, from June 5 through June 25, 2010. A low-key opening reception will occur from 7-9 PM on Saturday, June 5, while an off-the-chain closing reception will occur on Friday, June 25, from 7-10 PM. A zine commemorating the project will be available at the closing reception and most items in the gallery will be for sale as well.
